Celebrate National Park Week with Us
Whittaker Mountaineering is proud to partner with Washington's National Park Fund (WNPF) for this year's National Park Week. From Saturday, April 19th through Sunday, April 27th, we’re donating 10% of all gross sales — both online and in-store — to support the wild places that have shaped our community and our legacy.
Whether you're gearing up for your next summit bid or just swinging through on your way to the park, your purchase during this week directly supports conservation, restoration, and innovation across Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks.
Let’s keep these parks strong for future generations of climbers, hikers, dreamers, and dirtbags. Some things never go out of style—like wild places worth protecting.

A Partner for the Parks
Washington's National Park Fund is the official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks.
Each year, the three park superintendents and their teams identify critical projects in need of support. WNPF then raises the funds to make these projects a reality — sustaining dozens of initiatives annually that would otherwise go unfunded.
From rebuilding trails and investing in science, to funding youth programs and volunteer crews, WNPF fills the gaps where federal funding falls short. And that funding gap is real: Congress sets the National Park Service's budget each year, but that budget hasn't kept pace with rising costs, staff needs, and climate-driven changes.

Honoring a Legacy: WNPF and Lou Whittaker
Washington's National Park Fund was founded in 1993 by a group of passionate leaders including Lou Whittaker — legendary mountaineer, founder of RMI Expeditions, and a lifelong advocate for the wild places of Washington State. His deep reverence for these landscapes led him to co-found WNPF, ensuring that the parks he cherished would get the care and funding they deserve.
Today, WNPF continues that mission as the official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks, funding everything from glacier research to youth programs.

What Is the Resilience Fund?
The WNPF Resilience Fund was created to help Washington's national parks respond to a changing world. With uncertain federal budgets and increasing pressure on park ecosystems and staff, this fund is a lifeline that supports critical, timely needs.
From trail repair after storms to equipment for search and rescue teams, donations to the Resilience Fund allow superintendents and park leaders to direct resources exactly where they’re needed most.
When you shop during National Park Week, your purchase helps grow this vital fund. Want to do more?
