Good for wider feet. Very comfortable easy to walk in to approaches. Doesn't excel at anything but good at everything boots give great confidence will be using on rainer next year baldy Shasta. Thanks Whitaker mountaineering

The Lowa Alpine Expert GTX is hands down the best mountaineering boot I have ever owned. I have worn the equivalent boot made by La Sportiva but they were always a bit too narrow. The Alpine Experts really fit my medium to wide foot perfectly. I sized up one full size from my street shoe size and that was the ticket. They are great for long approaches and perform well on moderate to steep ice. I used them for the first time ice climbing in Hyalite Canyon this winter and they really helped make the experience that much more pleasant. I highly recommend this boot for anyone with medium to wide feet.
