A well-designed helmet should be put on... and then forgotten. You can be wearing a helmet for 10-12 hours at a time while climbing, so comfort is almost as important as safety. The Black Diamond Half Dome checks both those boxes.
Now redesigned, the helmet features a new lower profile suspension system with a one-handed dial combined with streamlined headlamp clips for added comfort and simplicity. Finally, an updated chin strap adds more efficiency and security while on the rock. The Half Dome is an all-purpose workhorse ideal for everything from trad cragging to alpine expeditions.

A climbing helmet needs to do two things: protect your head and be reasonably comfortable. The Black Diamond Half Dome does both well. It's durable, well ventilated, and the fit system make sure I can put it on and go climbing without thinking about it.
Measure around the largest part of the head-about one inch from the eyebrows.
