Fake or a defect

After trying on some arcteryx jackets at REI I decided to buy one from Whittaker due to the sale. The jacket I received had the right sizing noted but was CLEARLY much larger than what was at REI. The jacket is either a defect (which I doubt) or it is a fake product.
