Palm girth: measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with your fingers together.

A glove that works across guiding, ski patrol, backcountry skiing, ice climbing, and alpine climbing is a rare thing, and the Patrol delivers across all of it. Three-plus seasons of hard use and the warmth holds up, which is not something most gloves can claim. When the weather shifts colder, guides reach for these without second-guessing. The dexterity-to-warmth ratio is the real selling point here: precise enough for technical tasks including handling explosives on ski patrol duty, warm and dry enough for long cold days on the mountain. Being transparent: if pure dexterity is the priority, more specialized gloves exist for each discipline. But for a single glove that handles everything reliably without giving out, the Patrol is hard to argue with.
