Older Version of Kollusion jacket (the better one)

So I purchased this jacket as a camping/motorcycle jacket for the spring and summer. Actual motorcycle gear is very cumbersome and most of the time warm even if made for summer. This has some durability and abrasion resistance, again it's not a "motorcycle" jacket and doesn't present armor or abrasion resistance certifications but that's fine I don't go to fast. Anyways I purchased this, only to realize Kuhl has a "newer" model of this jacket. Upon learning this, I went ahead and purchased the newer model of this jacket to compare. It is in my opinion inferior to this older model jacket. Snap buttons are black and feel less then secure at times, the sizing is way off. A large fit like a trash bag, where this Large (turkish coffee) fits slim and just right for optional layering. The actual buttons are slip buttons and feel much more secure then the newer version, although more of a task to do up and un do, they look much much better then the new version, which looks to "militarized" and this one looks more "adventurer, explorer" After a few weeks use in different conditions I can attest to it's capabilities. I've layered it up and down and each setting it provides exceptional cover and comfort. I love the adjustable snap sleeves, as fully unbuttoned I can roll the sleeves up almost like a shirt, which has been great on those warmer days when riding or working in the camp site. The stand up collar provides great wind protection on the bike and gives a great dean martin vibe when wearing casually around town. The fold out hood has been absolutely clutch, although tedious to roll back up proper without bulging the collar to much. The newer version has a cheaper feeling nylon/synthetic hood and not the same canvas material, it looks separate to the coat and detracts from the overall aesthetics of it. Overall highly recommend this older version over the newer one. Not like Kuhl to downgrade a product with newer versions in my opinion. I own several items from them. But who knows why some companies do what they do. Whittaker Mountaineering was kind enough to refund me for 3 day shipping when my item didn't arrive in time for a trip I had planned. Great customer service and overall great company.
